How do you disable auto-numbers

Unread postby gkbaldwin » Wed Feb 15, 2012 10:42 am

Hi;

I downloaded a PFE refrigerator car set from the RWA library. A nice set. However, the paint scheme called for car numbers that were not of the normal size on the set of 6 cars so each individual car had the numbers made as part of the textured siding. The issue is that the auto-numbering is being overlayed on top of the numbers, but should not be displayed at all.

Is there are simple way to disable the auto-numbering so that these numbers do not display at all on these reefers?

Regards, Gerry

May I suggest that you contact whomever produced the repaint? Conscientious re-painters include contact information in the package's read-me file.

Actually this is another set that I QA'd.

I think the root cause is the same. MadMike and I like to use the number package that GreatNortherner created and posted up in the RWA library (I still can't find it though). In that set is a way to "blank out" the auto-numbers. It appears you do not have the number set and that we never mentioned this in the readme.

You can disable most auto-numbering features by copy/pasting Michael Stephan's "invisible" numbers. I think you can find them here in the RWA file library.

GreatNortherner == Michael Stephan

Can you find the numbers set? I am still drawing a blank.

Absolute simplest method - empty the dcsv file with the autonumbers in it. The game will pick random gibberish numbers which won't show up. Slightly less simple way - make a blank texture, and edit the number set blueprint ( usually a bin file in the texture folder ) so all the numbers point at that blank texture.

Turns out it was an installation problem. Not sure what? I uninstalled the package and reinstalled it a second time and now all is working correctly.

Thanks all, Gerry

Glad you fixed the problem. :D

For the other number issue you had with the SP&S ... I found the numbers!

There are two link on that entry, you want the PS-1 Number Textures.

Hi Papaxpress;

Found and installed the PS1-Numbers.

The reinstalled the SP&S RS3. No change....still shows as missing texture?

Is there a step that I am missing?

Probably not at this point. If I get a chance I will look at it tonight.

OK< the issue is from Mr. Cowen's last update....

You will need to go to the \Default\Engine\Textures\ folder, and copy:

decal_primarynumber_0.TgPcDx
decal_primarynumber_1.TgPcDx
decal_primarynumber_2.TgPcDx
decal_primarynumber_3.TgPcDx

into the \SPnS\Engine\Textures\ folder.

During the last update, the base number textures were renamed, and the new .geo was modified, so it can't find the older versions.
