Sorry to see you go. *!sad!* I know Railworks gets real frustrating at times, seems like sometimes I spend more time trying to "fix" things and get RW to run properly, than I play it. Just too stubborn to quit yet. Good luck and hope to see you back sometime.

Hi MDurdan,
I know this post is your opinion and decision but honestly the last thing you ever want to do with any software is uninstall it, your first choice should always be to repair or modify. Without knowing more about your system I can only guess to possible problems, but a slow Internet connect can cause problems for a software program that always likes to be logged into a web portal. If you get up and running I would suggest trying to run in off line mode. Also what do you mean by adding mack parts to your computer? Are you trying to run Rail Works on a Apple or McIntosh computer? I'm also a firm believer in backing up Rail Works before installing anything new, that way if it quites working just restore the backup. I know you said you have a slow Internet connection, but did you try using Steam to verify your software. Something else we all need to remember, RSC is not a very large company and I'll bet the majority of the employees all wear multiple hats. So even though their goal is to release software and add-ons that are bug free, thats not always going to happen. Also with limited personal it may take some time before someone from their support staff is able to answer your question. Honestly, every support email I've sent to RSC has been answered. Again it's your decision, but honestly uninstalling more times than not is just creating more work for yourself.

Regards,
Rich S.

Does that mean that there's problems with the K4, has anyone else experienced this problem.

I want to buy it.

But if it messed up my computer I wouldn't be able to buy a new one and wouldn't be able to model any longer.

Before I buy it, I want to know if it's safe to buy it.

Because years ago when I had MSTS I had a download or something mess up my game. I uninstalled the game, reinstalled it and it didn't fix the problem. After that I trashed MSTS and bought Rail Simulator. Now that I have RW I wouldn't want the same thing to happen with it.

Hi jpetersjr,
I have the K4 add-on and have not found any problems. It appears there were a couple of bugs with in the first release, but they have been corrected. With the K4 also brings another first for RSC, operating Cab Signals :) I've not completed all of the HSC K4 scenarios yet, but so far no problems.

Rich S.

Hi!

I have two Windows 7 side by side. Another is 32bit and another is 64bit. When I play in 32bit many of my routes freezes my PC. They eat eat all RAM memory of my PC. PRR K4 freezes too. When I change to 64bit environment everything works OK and never freezes my PC.

To tell you the truth, it pains me greatly to have to build such large buildings because of how long it takes. Really, I don't have much patience and even little patience to build a route.

These as well bug me.

I just build it since at the moment the game needs freeware large city buildings.

Such as this model I built here.

New York Apartment 3 Progress 2 A.jpg

Every now and then I loose all patience and stop building for weeks at a time.

Texturing a building like this is truly a nightmere and this is nothing compared to the Empire State building.

Also, it also drives me crazy that TSX won't work on my computer without shuttering up the computer, because of that the only way I can drive on the game is to run in legacy mode.

welcome back! *&!welcome!&*
I run an i7 2600K Sandy Bridge overclocked to 4.6GHz, with 8GB 1600 DDR3RAM, on a Z68 ver 3 mobo with a Geforce GTX 560TI graphics card, 1TB HDD, and this rig runs TS2012 and FSX extremely well with very few issues and great graphics. The new Ivybridge will be out in a couple of months and this promises to be sighificantly faster than my rig and possibley cheaper. The new ATI 79xx cards are out with new nVidia cards out soon both can run in PCIE3 which is twice as fast as PCIE2. So you could upgrade today and still have a fast machine or wait a couple of months for the latest and greatest. IMHO at present when it comes to grunt for cpu intensive games then at present Intel cpu's are better than AMD cpu's, don't get me wrong the latter are excellent for everyday use but not necessarily for games.
