...comes RSC's next UK dlc: The Class 70

For all of you who don't know: This loco was manufactured for the British rails by GE in Erie, PA. You really see that it has an American heart.

Nice cab indeed.. but looks like the gauges are unreadable, as usual... what a pity!

Hi Micael, I'm a little puzzled by your response? Do you mean the standard for all GE locomotives built for the UK, or for all GE locomotives built? I don't think these would sell very well in North America, they are under powered, don't have the North American safety cab and lack full carbody hand rails. Does anyone know if these units have AC or DC traction motors?

I'm guessing he means the graphics standard for RSC to follow in future US releases.

Not exactly, but of course they should also keep up their graphic standard.

My statement was a comment to the one of RSC (posted above mine).
I meant that they should also include this amount of readouts and functions in upcoming American locos.
At least they can in this American-built loco where the cab has parts similar to the locos built for the American market.
This example proves that it is also possible for RSC to detail American-style cab displays (not only G-TraX can do this ).

Yes, I agree and I hope maybe RSC will redo the Dash 9 and the Evo cab screens adding more detail

That loco looks like it fell out of the tallest of tall "Ugly Trees" and hit every branch on the way down
Don't think I have ever seen a model or class of dismal that looks as bad.

It may not have the bold bull dog look of our North American engines, but I like the lines and profile.

Safety considerations aside, I like the looks. It would be a welcome change from the black brick look of North American locos.

Good grief, that thing is huge! At least as big as our DD40X! Wow!

Actually its about 20' shorter than a DD40, and just a shy shorter than a SD70ACe.

You know the old saying "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" That being said, I'll take a dash 8, dash 9 or Evo any day of the week over that odd looking engine But then again the SD50's and SD60's to me always looked like brutes and the SD40-2 combined the looks of speed and power. So I guess Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder

Nothing touches the GE U boats as far as GE, and the Geeps for EMD. I'm not much of a fan of the "cube" look European locomotives have, and the dual cabs on many are odd also to me. This looks like a high quality model though, and I hope they do the same for all locomotives in the future and upgrade the old models to this standard. Freightliner, how did that company get away without a copyright issue? Or do American copyrights not apply in Europe? Because in the US, Freightliner makes trucks, in the UK, it appears Freightliner is a railroad company.
