Raildriver Scripting

Unread postby miata54 » Wed Dec 28, 2011 12:09 pm

Got an RD for Christmas. Seems to be working OK. I tried changing the programming on some of the "Blue" buttons (adding MPH and KPH to buttons 15 & 16) and then decided I wanted to return to the default setting for button 15 which is labeled "RailDriver Run/Stop", but can't find that macro in the Function list.

Does anyone know where to find the OE scripting for the blue buttons?

Thx

Chris

Look for in the windows at the right: Functions > Railworks > Start/Stop

MPH/KPH is usefull with Geman locos and some steams, but I don't use run/stop (no real utility so far) in order to save buttons to others more usefull functions. I have changed all the default blue buttons, and use 4 different basic layouts (normal diesels, diesels with gears, eletric ICE, and steams).

You can also find the xml files here: (your files programs)\PI Engineering\MacroWorks 3\Macros\RailWorks

There is a recent thread about Raildriver, fixes and tricks....

I use in diesel layout 12=MPH 26=KPH

Thanks Lisboa. I don't know how I missed that entry in that list. I was trying to figure out just what function the "Start/Stop" would do. I pressed it and no noticeable action took place. I had actually programmed MPH to that key with KPH to #16 but thought maybe "Start/Stop" was of higher significant value. From your link, it appears to be associated with RS, than RW.

I've also noticed that in Portland Terminal, none of the three major controls (reverser, throttle or brake on the RD) work in that route. Also, no "views" as well. Funny, because the RD whistle and bell control work on the E7 and SD-40-2 in PT, but no other function. Do you have PT and if so, do you experience the same problem?

Thx

With a little further experimentation, I discovered that RD will not operate at all, aside from the whistle, bell and "ESC" button, on PT with TSX enabled. Disable TSX and RD will operate. I guess this is a matter of updating PT to RW2012.

Hi Chris
Well, I have Portland Terminal RW2 Steam DLC, I though it was already automatically updated to TS2012 version, but looks like being the same RW2 version (no warning about V2 or TS2012 in Map shot when loading). I just tested, at least in my current PT RW2 version RD ran fine (TSX On) with 2 different locos. If PT TS2012 is too much heavy (I've heard about) RD won't work fine but it's not a device problem. In too much low fps RD is also slower (in fact everything is slower, not only RD), but it's weird you saying that none of levers are working... !*don-know!*

Cheers,
Lisboa.
