how to bypass the Free upgrade to RailWorks 3?

Unread postby LtShadow » Mon Dec 26, 2011 11:09 pm

Hi there,

I bought Rail-Works 2 from Wall Mart and i was wondering if there was anyway to Install Rail-works 2 Train Sim without automatically going to the upgrade to TS-2012???

TS-2012 has the system requirements that my PC wont be able to handle and i really like the Train Simulators...

Please reply asap on how i CAN or cant do this..........

Thanks in advance!
Cheers! !*cheers*!

You can stop steam auto-updating games by going to the Updates tab of their properties in your library - I'm not sure if you can do that before you activate your copy of RW2 though!. However you could install it, make a copy of the files, activate it and then replace the steam install with your copy you made before. Probably. I don't know for sure, mine was a steam copy from the start.

Except, for me anyway, Legacy Mode was more demanding than RW2 was.

But...but Hawk, we're all more demanding of you anyways, so you should be used to it by now. *!!wink!!* heheh.

I don't mean to derail this thread too much, but hoping you had a good Christmas and everything has worked-out / will-work out smoothly for you as I recall you mentioned about selling your house and needing to move to a new house and with a deadline right around Christmas.

I do now see that without TSX on it is almost like RW2 but as Hawk said "Its still more demanding then RW2" ...... I am trying a few other methods to get RW2.

I will let you all know if these work!

Thanks,

CHEERS !*cheers*!

Little to late for that.....

i already Activated and installed RW2 but it auto upgraded me TO TS-2012....Thats why i posted here.
Is someone willing to Make me a copy of railworks 2 and send it to me VIA Drop box or something??? I really would like to avoid being arrested for Downloading a torrent !!det!!

That would be greatly appreciated... and if you CANT do that... IS THERE A WAY I COULD EITHER Re-Install this from my DVD then just copy the TS-2012.exe (Railworks.exe) and copy it to the install directory??

Thanks and CHEERS!! *!!thnx!!* !*cheers*!

Turn off auto-upates, uninstall the local files for RW3 via the steam client, and then reinstall off the DVD. You've activated it on steam already, shouldn't need to do it again.
