Default Rolling Stock List?

Unread postby robbit » Thu Dec 08, 2011 9:32 pm

Is there a way to create a list of all default rolling stock in ts2012 using RW Tools? Or does anybody know if one already exists? and if so, How or where do I get it? Thanks

Here's a list of Developer folders & sub-folders that could now be considered "default" for RailWorks:

Kuju/RailSimulator
Kuju/RailSimulatorUS
GermanRailroadsRW/Hagen-Siegen
GermanRailroadsRW/Rollmaterial
RSDL/Foilage01
EisenbahnwerkRW/Rollmaterial
Castlerock/Scenery
RSC/APStation

Though, the RSC/APStation pack is a free addon, by RSC, that would have to be downloaded first:

From RW_Tools you can check to see if a scenario uses default stock or not;
Route Building Tools > Check Route or Scenarios, select a route & then a scenario from the list you want to check, then click on the "List items used by selected scenario" button. The list it generates, default stock has "Default Stock" at the end of the line, if it's non-default, it won't have that part added to it.

Yes I understand all that thanks LoneWolfDon. But I was looking to get a list I could print out so I know what is default without having to go through all that and then have to edit the scenario to change the stuff just thought it would be easier that way.

Ahhh.. I see..
Hmm, well you know, one way you could probably do that;

Go into a Freeroam scenario, add in all of the locos and rolling-stock you find when having the

Kuju/RailSimulator
Kuju/RailSimulatorUS
GermanRailroadsRW/Hagen-Siegen
GermanRailroadsRW/Rollmaterial
EisenbahnwerkRW/Rollmaterial

Folders/Sub-folders checked.

Then, run it through RW_Tools as I outlined in my previous post here, then from there you'll see what is shown as "Default Stock" and you can make your own list from that.

I might do that myself soon, as I sometimes find that some 3rd-Party Developers sometimes put their locos or stock into the "default" folders as listed above, and then sometimes it can be hard to remember just what is actually default or not, and having a complete "default list" handy would save the hassle of changing locos or stock in a scenario later.

There is a list I will find it shortly. in the mean time there is also a 'Free Roam Scenario' with all default stock in the yard; UKTS_26866_default_stock_roster

Found it already, a PDF list; UKTS_25087_Railworks_2_default_rolling_stock_assets_dd_22-10-2010. Out of date since the Hitachi SEC was added and perhaps the Horseshoe Curve could be considered default now as it is in the Deluxe Version. However, these two should keep you right. Or do what I did, get a second copy of TS2012 on a new account.

I don't think that the Horseshoe Curve stuff would be considered as "default" though, as those of us who already have RW2 before the upgrade to RW3 had to buy the Horseshoe Curve route if we wanted it (and what about people who didn't buy the Horseshoe Curve route yet?), though those new Users of RW3 would have it though as a part of the package.

But, I could be wrong.

well the PDF on UKTS is you best bet then. If you really want I can attach it to an e-mail for you. I am sure that I won't be breaking any rules just mailing the one PDF.

If you have RW_Tools, have a look in the 'Templates' folder, there are 5 files
DefaultStock.txt
DefaultTextures.txt
DefaultSounds.txt
DefaultAssets.txt
DefaultGeo.txt

Which are as their names suggest. You can print out any of them. Probably do not include the Hitachi sets though.

Mike: Hey, that's a great tidbit of information to know. Much thanks for that! It should come in handy. !*salute*!

I just noticed on the "DefaultStock.txt" list, that some HSC stock is in there too:

RSC\HorseshoeCurve\RailVehicles\Diesel\F7\Default\Engine\F7A_default.bin
RSC\HorseshoeCurve\RailVehicles\Diesel\F7\Default\Engine\F7B_default.bin
RSC\HorseshoeCurve\RailVehicles\Diesel\GP7\Default\Engine\GP7_default.bin
RSC\HorseshoeCurve\RailVehicles\Freight\Caboose\Default\Wagon\caboose.bin
RSC\HorseshoeCurve\RailVehicles\Passenger\P70\Default\Coach\P70_Passenger_Car.bin

Are these HorseshoeCurve items considered being as "default" for all Users/ Owners of RW3 now too?

But thanks for pointing that out what a gem that program is. anybody not wanting to pay for rw tools do not know what they are missing

The default locos and rolling stock are all listed in the TS2012 manual (RW Driver Manual_Web.pdf) from page 17 onwards.

That is true but when you go into the Scenario Editor the Stock may have re-skins there so you need a more detailed list of what is default in order not to include some re-skins. The PDF I listed gives you exactly that, a list of the exact name of what is default stock.

And that Marleyman is exactly why I asked about the list because the manual does not tell you the different variations of the engines and need to know that as well But I have it My questions have been answered and I got what I needed. Thank you all for all your help on this
