2012 and US Steam Locos

Okay, so the Challenger and the Big Boy are on my Xmas wish list. I'm just wanting to make sure both of these work fully well with the 2012 update. Chris was checking them earlier and thought there might be some problems. I'm also wondering about the Consolidation included in the Challenger pack.

Big Boy seems to be the only steam loco I have that the cab view is OK. Challenger, Scotsman and Duchess you are standing inside the boiler. Have yet to check the Tornado and the Berkshires. Others have already said other British steam is messed up, but it seems only the cab view. Been looking for that fix someone posted, Phil, but haven't run across it. I'll keep looking.

Supposedly the Challenger was updated. I haven't run it since the update, so I can't verify that.

There is a cab fix for the Duchess on IHH's site. It's on the left first item:

"Cab Fixes for the Class 20, Evening Star, Britanna, & Duchess."

How about the Challenger and Consolidation, then? Have those been updated? Anyone able to run them?

Consolidation is fine, I run it often.

I did the cab camera myself if you are good about editing your cab bin file with RW Tools.
Keep in mind this is my idea of how it should be. I made it so you're in the front seat on the drivers side.
Change your x y z's These are the cab Camera.bin files.
Challenger change to this....

First set..

>1.3</X>
>3.65</Y>
>-4.6</Z>

Third set to this if yours are different....

>1.25</X>
>3.75</Y>
>-5</Z>

Consolidation.

First set..

>1.33</X>
>3.2</Y>
>-4.9</Z>

Third set...

>-1.3</X>
>3.2</Y>
>-4.9</Z>

Thanks, X-Driver. Is the cab.bin in the engine folder or simulation folder or somewhere else entirely?

I'm assuming that the cab view is the only problem people are having with these? I know the Challenger pack is old now, but there's a scarcity of US Steam, and I have GTrax locos.

Just look for the CabView folder. It's in there. *!!wink!!*

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\IHH\US Railroads\RailVehicles\Steam\Challenger\Default\CabView

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\IHH\US Railroads\RailVehicles\Steam\Consolidation\Default\CabView

This thing could drive me crazy. I have missing textures on the Challenger and have verified my files. Steam says they are all there.

In that case, Buzz, I'd delete the whole Challenger package and let Steam re-download it for me

This seems a sensible place to ask if there's any scenarios around using the GTrax engines.

Challenger working now. It now loads fine on Michael's Big Horn but won't load in his new route. This is most puzzling. I just keep getting a Something bad message. !*don-know!*

Steam or diesels? Steam I don't think so but it's been a while since I ran any of Rick's locomotives. Diesels are in the Portland Terminal route. Maybe some others around, too.
