Hopefully are good buddy's at RSC could do some of these new SP Cars for this route. It would really be nice if they could do these.

I could probably hammer those out quickly since I have all my lettering in layers.

But first the caboose... then I can look at others. Don't forget that I made SP and SSW repaints for the RWA donationware, and even though they have not been updated to TS2012 standards (waiting for GreatNortherner to get to them), they will work just fine, and will not glow in the dark.

That tank car isn't a million miles away from the default one - although that's rather fatter and shorter ( and visibly 12 sided! ). It's near enough to pass probably. Not that I'd turn down a new tank car, I'd rather not have to get an entire route for it though!

The hopper looks like something GN has done, although there are a confusing number of models in his range now...

I don't believe GN has a two bin like the picture (though I will check later tonight).

GN does have similar hoppers, but they are short 50T hoppers, unlike this tall sided one.

Unfortunately I cannot find any proof that SP owned any (even though my Dad has them in N scale from Atlas two decades ago).

OK, so this isn't going to be as bad as thought:

More progress:

Once again I found a use for Kali's auto numbering script. The original numbering was way too small and did not render GN's white roman well at all. So I hooked in Kali's library and problem solved. I will still take a little while for me to release this, but it should be done in time for Donner. If anyone just wants to paint up some base or weathering layers (ie no lettering), I create the clones and bundle them all together when I am done with all the technical stuffs.

I've been considering making a completely new body for that tank, just an inch or so fatter than the existing one so it sits around it. External autonumbers open all sorts of fun :). You can also make child objects for static logos and make the autonumber panel part of them, if you like - it's not tricky 3d work ( other than bending to the body contour ). I should point out that your little panel on the side is a bit straight when the tank isn't - mebbe I should make some tank sides at least.

I just hope I don't end up rewriting the library and breaking everything, lol.

Looks great! Sell the paint to RSC for $50 or something so they can include it in the Donner Pass!

Yea, I am trying to position the decal as close as possible to minimize the "flat effect".

Might be time to explore making them - it's quite fast :) just have to make sure everything is named right, and I think 3dc probably wants a certain structure. It is exactly like the speedsign ( minus the static sign parts ) which we've just had a tutorial for, only using TrainDecal for the shader.

Unless you *are* making them, in which case just bend it and re-export :p

Almost ready to release a "new" repaint, just a bit of touch up left and I am working with Kali to try and make the numbers better (I still feel over my head, but bear with me).

If anyone thinks they can weather this, please PM me and I will make the PSD available.

Also big props to Pete Willard and his RailTnk1 font. I wouldn't have been able to get the details I wanted with it.
