Hey Gang.

Please don't spank me for asking this but, I want to reinstall RW and I have a route I want to save. Where can I locate the route? Can I just pull it out and set it aside like in MSTS? !**duh*!! !*don-know!*

No spankings here (lately anyways ) Copy the contents of your "steamapps" folder to another folder on your hard drive. Now you can uninstall and reinstall Railworks or even the Steam client (which I do both about every 6 months or so) Once you reinstall RW, just paste that folder back into Steam and all your stuff *should* be good to go. (*should* is a disclaimer, anything can happen and sometimes does)

But wouldn't that defeat the point of reinstalling it, since you're just pasting the old installation back in? Or did you mean you're supposed to hit "don't replace" for all the core files?

Also be aware that doing this will also copy and replace all your other Steam games. I'd recommend just copying the Railworks folder that resides inside steamapps if you have any other Steam games installed.

Probably should have asked if this route is DLC that was purchased from Steam, or from a third party vendor. In the case of a third party, they are usually more than happy to let you download the route again once you have reinstalled RW. Steam will automatically reinstall all the DLC bought thru them.

I took a look at my Documents folder. Oh, lord. All the RW "stuff" that is in there is just amazing. DLC, add on's, third party, scenarios. !*hp*!
