Just bought the Acela

Hi guys

I've been having a horrible time recently, and last night I got tempted to buy the Acela express to cheer myself up.

I have to say, I am very, very impressed with it. The cab functions are super, and the external appearance is excellent.
In fact, it's one of the best passenger trains I have for TS2012 in terms of the overall package. It is by miles a better way to experience the NEC route than the bundled AEM-7.

Quarter a point deducted for no passenger view but I very seldom use it anyway.
It's now on my list of essential DLC! !!*ok*!!

Yes, the Acela is a very nice model with many functions.

However, some don't seem to work for me:
- the signal speed indicator doesn't show anything most of the time.
- the left cab display where it reads "doors" etc.: these readouts don't seem to work (although I've seen them working in RSC's screeshots)

Wow! You're right

I think this is probably my favourite modern train "set" so far for Railworks - I think it's fantastic, both in terms of functionality and appearance.

However on my PC and combined with the NEC, it runs like an arthritic three-legged donkey. On Mogadon.

Strangely having had a play with the LOVELY Acela addon now, the thing which seems to hugely adversely affect framerate seems not to be TSX enabled/disabled, but the presence/absence of rain!

That means I can work around the issue! Fantastic!
