Are these models you created, or something that already exists?

You can convert MSTS content to RW Assets with the shape converter discussed in this thread. Bear in mind though, that you can not publish the converted assets if you are not the original creator or if you do not have the original creator's approval.

Sometimes though, it's just easier to build the model from scratch.

Honestly, stuff from MSTS looks dated in RW3.

It's not just the texture, it's also the model. RW supports a higher number of polys than MSTS did (or does).

Honestly, it's just better to create new models that has higher poly count, better textures, and doesn't lag the game.

Take it from someone who understands what went into the models in MSTS and what it takes to create something useable in RW3, the models from MSTS will still look dated compared to what we've got now. Regardless of what you may believe, you can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear - trust me.

Maybe , but Hack has posted truth , it's just not worth the effort ( with some rare exceptions )

ETA ..

It's not always the tri count for any particular model that affects in game performance , that is one consideration for sure ,but the number and type of materials used and the UV mapping ( batching your drawcalls ) will have much greater influence .

Pete Willard (me) makes MSTS models... and I agree strongly with this. Just start over.
