Inaccuracies in TS2012

I dont really want to complain, but there are a few things Ive seen that just dont cut it in the real world considering this game is meant to be, or commonly referred as a "sim". First, I've noticed unlike some of the default route signals, on Horse Shoe, the signal will read "clear" as you approach it, once your passed it, it doesnt change. Is this a color position signal thing or what? Second, on the San Bernadino route, I noticed the ES44AC sounds exactly like a SD40-2...I dont think so! !*not-ok*! And then, just as a quirk, the head out view on the ES44AC is standind on the corner steps on the front of the engine! And finally, on the SD40-2 as well as the ES44AC the ditch lights do not flash back and fourth as the horn blows like they do (at least where I live) in the real world. Is there some kind of fix for these things anywhere?

As far as the locomotive sounds are concerned, something is wrong with yours. The ES44AC's sound just like EVO's. I was concerned that they would copy the Dash-9 sounds but they did not. I wished they had chosen the K5LLA horn for it. There are plenty of sources to change that on this forum, although I cannot change them myself. The SD-40-2 sounds are far more improved over the the old sounds. I mean FAR more improved. You even have a working and readable control stand for it now, so you do not have to use the HUD. We even now have ALL of the locomotives with sound. Even the DPU's and helpers.

The ditchlights on the GEVO are accurate for UP and BNSF units as they do no flash like CSX or NS.

Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYwHrDlmC1A

The SD40-2 is probably the same, as it's a feature of western power.

In the US it's up to the railroad if they want to have flashing ditch lights or not. UP and BNSF decided not to do this while CSX and Norfolk Southern have chosen to use flashing ditch lights.

In Canada however, I think it's the law that all locomotives must have flashing ditch lights.

I believe the issue with signals not changing until last car has passed is related to the scripts used either in the signals themselves on HSC & NEC or with the manner signals are represented on the 2D map on these routes.

OK, point made there! I wasnt aware of that. Is there anything I can do or download to change that?

As far as the engine sounds, what I was referring to is the default routes and UP locos. As with any other game/sim (MSTS for example) these models are not as quality-oriented as user created ones. Im looking for tweaks for these things. Can I find these "tweaks" in the file library?

P.S. Whats a/is GEVO?

actually no railway in Canada as far as i know ever used flashing ditch lights, the law was that ALL locomotives must be equipped with ditchlights; flashing or not!

I dont know what you people expect when it comes to sound for US locos. Remember these guy's are in the UK, It's not like they can just drive down to the local yard and record dash-9 sound's, and they cant just copy them from any site either due to copyright laws. To get real US sounds they would have to travel all the way to the US to record them. That would be a very expensive trip just for sound effects.
