One Hundred Scenairio Engine Power Loss

OK, Im trying to run the 100 scenairio on the horse shoe here and suddenly I loose power to my engines. Guy says "do whatever you can..." What the hell am I supposed to do??? Im dead on the tracks, engine is not responding to throttle...what are you supposed to do here??
