Aliasing Tutorial

Unread postby miata54 » Tue Oct 04, 2011 8:26 am

When I was running MSTS, Route Riter providing a nice and easy method to alias loco cab and sound files from one engine to another. In RW Tools 2012, an alias function isn't available, so I am asking if there is a (any) tutorial which explains step by step, on how to swap horn and engine sounds from one loco to another. !!*ok*!!

hi,

to make it easy for you I suggest getting RW_tools from mike simpson. A real good program which will help you locate the sections needed to perform this. aliasing is easy and similar to what you have done before just lookinf for different names now.

theres lots of posts on this. you can search the forum for "horn sounds".

good luck

Thanks, but I already have RW Tools 2012 and there is no alias function in that program. I searched for "horn" and "engine" sounds in the forum, but came up with no tutorial info on either. I would just like to know if it is possible (and how to do it) to alias the engine sounds of the F7 in Horseshoe Curve to the E7 in Portland Terminal.
