Multi-Core

What is the purpose of the Multi-Core selection in the list of Command Line Options?
Does selecting this enable the simulator to run multi cores on your computer (if so equipped), or is it some debugging tool?
If you have a multi core computer, with the simulator utilize multiple cores if this selection is not checked?

Concensus among us and the word from RSC is it does not work yet. On my system enabling it REDUCES my frame rate by 30%.

Toripony, thanks for your reply. However the crux of my question is what is its intended function - to enable multi core use, or something else? I have already seen posts from other users that say that the sim is using 2 cores verified by them running RW3 with their taskmanager open.

It appears to enable a workaround for some broken power-management features under Windows XP, but there are better ways of fixing that without the side-effects. Very few people wil see a performance increase from the Multicore setting - it does not turn on or off the new multithreading features - but it can overload your CPU and force it to slow down."
