Back up...1st reminder

Ok all,

As far as I know the guys are still on track for Friday release so that leaves you 6 days to back up your personal RWs projects and anything else you feel the need to.
Nothing should be lost but just incase.

What folders should we backup?

/steam/steamapps/common/railworks

You should also have copies of all the third party modifications, routes and scenarios that you have installed. Anything that was a .rpk file should be in that "steamapps" folder. But any other "stuff" I keep a copy in a folder in Documents.

so back up my whole railworks folder, and then when RW3 is released drop it back into that folder (NOT REPLACING ANY OF THE FILES IF THE PROGRAM REQUESTS TO DO SO)? do i got it right? (i have all my third party products saved in another folder back from the RS days up untill now so no worries about that, just i wish to save my routes, repaints...etc. [the ones that don't use the RWP.file])

please tell me if i am wrong, would hate to loose any work i have done on my 4 project routes (2 of 4 are in FL right now, other 2 are still a wip)

No, it is simpler than that. Back it up and upgrade to RW3. If all goes well, nothing should be broken.
If something IS broken, you can always get the needed files from the backup.
Mostly, those would be default files that you have changed, for example custom sounds for default engines.
The same changes that you would have to do again if you used the "check game files" function in Steam.

The files for your routes should be safely backed up already, outside of your railworks folder.
Same goes for any work done by yourself that is not replaceable, documents, wedding pictures, etc.

The only thing I do is copy the whole Railworks folder and paste it to my E drive.

Reading my post again, I realize there's a possibility of confusion due to my wording.
What I mean is yes, you must make a backup of your work. Also your work files should exist outside your railworks folder.

The files for your routes should be safely backed up already, outside of your railworks folder.
Same goes for any work done by yourself that is not replaceable, documents, wedding pictures, etc.
