The ad for Train Simulator 2012 on the Just Trains Website mentions the game includes the "Hitachi Super Express". What is this, and what route would it run on?

It hasn't been built yet. It's under procurement now and is planned to be a long-term replacement mainly for the class 43 HST. It would be correct to appear (in RW terms) on Oxford - Paddington and York - Newcastle.

The real-world specification keeps changing (so I don't envy the RSC people THAT challenge), but the plan is for it to have both diesel engines under each coach and also overhead electric so that it's equally happy under the wires or beyond.

Still, seeing as the real thing doesn't exist yet, if RSC really are planning it then I guess no one will be able to say that it isn't like the real thing!

And given procurement is under govt. review after the Thameslink issue, it might never exist. It will probably be something like the Javelin I guess, although given they're apparently hard riders even on relatively brand new HS1 I would hope not very much like a Javelin. That is however about all there is to the IEP so far, speculation.

Sticking a fictional model on the front of your box is something that sends a very odd message.
