TOFC Facility

Unread postby kcs_fan » Tue Sep 13, 2011 11:27 am

I have been working on an early TOFC facility and it's beginning to look like something. I purchased the Britkits Early TOFC sets and they are perfect for my time period. I did, however run into one snag. I know how to load and unload the cars, but is there a way to place some of the trailers on the ground so they look like they are ready for pickup or ready for loading onto the flatcars?

Yes. Go to the scenery tools and click the persons head (best way to describe it, heh). Scroll down or hover over the scenery items and press "T" to go to the items beginning with T. You should have all the trailers from the set that can be placed as stand alone objects.

- Click The Persons Head:

- Scroll Down to T:

- Done!

I was hoping this thread was about a "loader" ramp/dock/structure for TOFC's. It used to be one of the first "extras" available for model railroads. We have plenty of trailers for RW but no ramps.

Most early TOFC ramps were nothing more then a dirt and wood ramp with a couple pocket on the end so the cars can get flush to the end of the ramp. Truck cabs would reverse up the ramp and down the cars and leave their trailers on the respective car.

I do agree we need some new TOFC handling equipment:
