Just found out about a old rail line just across the river from the Dardanelle & Russellville section of the Van Buren Sub i am working on. I may add it on later for something to run steam & early 1900's equipment on
What i find interesting about this is that for 30 years there were two railroads operating one half mile from each other, but there was never a bridge or rail ferry put into operation to provide interchange between the two "or at least i cannot find evedence of one". There was a toll bridge for horses & early auto traffic though
The D&R currently provides rail service from North Dardanelle to the UP ex MP & the Dardanelle, Ola and Southern ran from Dardanelle to an interchange with the Rock Island in Ola, AR
