Does anyone know what the Track Speed transponder does on the NEC? I came across it on the object list and I'm not sure of its purpose.

Here's what the real thing does, not sure how far that is replicated in Railworks though: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACSES

You can certainly make something like that that would transmit permanent speed restrictions ( and actually if it can do permanent, it could do TSRs too - you'd just have to put the limit in yourself ). Making the engine do something with it is a different matter - but then again the real thing would have to be fitted with a receiver too.

It does what it says on the tin. It's for the cab signalling.

Hi, I am working on a route for the P42DC and I know that the track speed transponders work with this loco (tested it on the NEC). However, I can't get the track speed transponder to transmit the actual track speed, I've tried entering the speed into the transponder manually, splitting the track just before the transponder, placing the transponder near a speed sign (as is done on the NEC), and using the transponder with NEC track. No matter what I do the cab speed always shows up as 0 on the Genesis' in-cab display as soon as I pass the transponder. Does any one have any idea how to place these in a route?
