Hi Derek,
I saw you mentioned in another thread you were planning on creating a GP38. My question is, are you creating a GP38, GP38AC or GP38-2? Will threre be High Hoods, Low Hoods or both. Will the engines be equipped with EMD Blomberg Type "B" or Type "M" trucks? And do you plan on creating both Dynamic and Non Dynamic brake versions?
Here are a few examples from my personal photo collection:
P&LE 2027 & 2028 are both GP38's with Dynamic brakes and Blomberg Type B trucks. These units came from Conrail and were originally purchased by the Penn Central.

P&LE 2060 is a Non Dynamic brake GP38-2 with Type B trucks. Also of note, the 2057 through 2060 were purchased from the Rock Island. When delivered from EMD they were painted in the RI Bankruptcy Blue scheme and numbered 4352 through 4355.
Compare the radiator grills of the 2060 (GP38-2) with those of the 2026 (GP38) coupled to the long hood end.

Most Eastern Roads had the headlights mounted on the front of the cab roof, as compared to Western Roads that had the headlights mounted on the low nose.

Originally most units had the air horns mounted on the cab roof.

Not One of mine, but proper credit given. This is a High Hood GP38-2 with the Blomberg type M truck. Of special note on this unit, it was built in early 1972, and still has the pre dash 2 radiator grills

One last question, any chance of adding a few GE U-Boats to your to-do list?

Regards,
Rich S.
