Child objects to make new/updated locomotives.

Hi all,

I didn't know where to put this... but I figured I'd drop a little something here...

With the release of the AC44C6M from Switch Point Simulations it got me thinking...

Since they basically used child objects on the default Dash 9 from Penn Coal... I was wondering how we can do that with other locomotives...

For example... Alias the nose of an SD70Ace to an SD70MAC to make a more or less true SD70ACC.

Alias the more modern PTC antenna arrays to a locomotive and make other "upgrades" done to locomotives we already have in our sims.

I am no modeler, and I know it's a feat for some. But just wondering if that's possible.

Anyone have any input?

Ken

The problem with such parts of a loco like the nose, are not usually children, but part of the Geo.
An antenna or a supplementary part of a nose placed within a child object would still require modeling and textures.
