Just curious, but is this horn specific for SOO, or just an update to the rather electronic sounding default horn that the GP9 came with?

i just tryed it out and it has problems, the loop is horrid, and there is no fading of the horn as you move away from the loco.

im not sure why it doesnt fade. i think this has something to do with the gp9 file in general. i never had a problem like this before. all other horns fade on curving.
you have to hold the horn down for the full sound. it just takes some finessing. this was a tricky horn to begin with since it fades down mid horn sound.
i removed it until i get it fixed.

you can edit the engine.bin file of your choice by opening it with serz. find your serz.exe in your railworks folder. drag and drop your .bin file to serz.exe. you will notice a .xml file has been created where your .bin file is, which can be opened by notepad or wordpad. open the new .xml file, find the line with hornsound.xml in it and replace the line with the address to the horn.xml you want the loco to use. each of my folders has a unique horn.xml which you will alias the loco to. edit the provider/ product lines replacing with eyein12 and soo-line respectively.
after this save the file and exit. drag and drop the xml to serz and youre done. you should notice that the.bin file date modified and time should be different than when you first started so you know the porcess worked.
example: this is what you will be looking for in the file.
<iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID>
<BlueprintSetID>
<iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID>
<Provider d:type="cDeltaString">RSC</Provider>
<Product d:type="cDeltaString">Dash9Pack01</Product>
</iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID>
</BlueprintSetID>
<BlueprintID d:type="cDeltaString">Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\Dash9\Cab\Dash9 Horn Sound.xml</BlueprintID>
change the items bolded to the ones mentioned above.
looks like this
<iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID>
<BlueprintSetID>
<iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID>
<Provider d:type="cDeltaString">eyein12</Provider>
<Product d:type="cDeltaString">soo-line</Product>
</iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID>
</BlueprintSetID>
<BlueprintID d:type="cDeltaString">Audio\RailVehicles\Horns\EK K3LA TC\horn.xml</BlueprintID>
repeat folder structure for any other horn just changing the horn folder to whatever horn you want.

ok fixed the new gp9 horn problems. mono instead of stereo duh. now the horn follows curving instructions on passing and decreases and increases on approach, and is looped tight. but the horn structure is a bad candidate for looping since it gets louder on sounding. i also included a csx k3la from a train-sim member who gave me the recording. it sounds good!
i'll upload to my blog tomorrow morning
sorry guys about the gp9 horn its been 2 months since i did a horn and forgot it needed to be in mono 16bit.
