RCAP…any additional signals?

Unread postby xxuntitledxx » Thu Apr 11, 2024 10:20 am

Hey all,

Don’t know if this should go in the RCAP section or not, but I was wondering if anyone was ever going to update that project with additional signal styles: like gantry mount options for the stand signals, additional aspects, and types such as Color Position Signals, etc. If that were the case, I would switch my entire route to RCAP because they look great for my route. Unfortunately they don’t offer all the aspects I would need. So I’m using a mix of other ones out there. So, I was just seeing if anyone was looking to continue or can we say that the RCAP project has ended.

I believe the RCAP projects are done, a lot of developers have stopped or ended up burn out from engaging with Train Simulation. Just from what I've seen and read through the years. So I would say don't expect an update with RCAP. Just like with 3D trains, that was another good asset to Train Simulator/Railworks but Marc disappeared.

They're still around, you can find posts regarding their return over on the trainsim.com forums. However, I wouldn't expect a relaunch of the 3dtrains site any time soon.

Are there any signals similar to the RCAP ones or with lights that have a further viewing distance? If not, I'll stick with the mix I'm using. I am using a mix of Penn Coal/Miami/Soldier Summit signals.

Here is a link to a bunch of SMM Signals (about 54MB): Maybe you'll find what you're looking for in it:

PM if you find yourself looking or wanting it.
