While running a WB coal train (E220) I had to stop at Ronceverte to wait for an EB AI (Q290). The attached screen shot is what Q290 looked like as it went by my train. The objects between the tracks were the only thing visible as the went past.

I think that happens when you're missing the shape file or textures for those cars.

Tori,
Even the engines were like that and they came from the same place as the other SD40-2's.

I had this same problem on Ft. Kent, but the train did appear sooner or later. Maybe the computer is struggling to render the train fast enough?

Jay, verify the game files, then clear the blueprint cache.

Don't pay any attention to the Romulans or Kingons that are hanging around here. !*roll-laugh*!

I always clear the blueprint cache before playing, and I don't know how to verify the game files.

I don't know if it is because this was supposed to be an AI train that I was driving that was supposed to disappear at the Harts Run portal.

To verify the game files, open Steam and choose Libraries. Right click on the game, choose Properties> Local Files tab> Verify. You may have to do that a few times until Steam says there were no missing files.
