Coil Steel Cars

Is there a better representation of such cars or is the KUJU the only one? Those that I have seen and those I have seen photographs of have all been twin hood versions whereas the KUJU version is a single hood over the full length - is this prototypical and I haven't seen photos of them in this configuration or is the KUJU version one of a non-existent prototype? Maybe a better version is in the Searchlight Simulations Freight pack 3 or 4 (not yet available).
Just asking.

Being a expert at frittering away time I looked all over the place and failed to find one. Perhaps Bernard or someone can fix us up. Post a pic of what you are talking about.

As far as I’m aware searchlight doesn’t have one in freight pack 3 (nobody knows what 4 is gonna have).

However, I have found these.

I believe he is talking about either the Thrall 48' 2-hood Coil Steel car or the 100 Ton Coil Car with round or angled hoods.

If it's like those, there's something similar to them in that second pack I linked. Other than that your basically out of luck.

More coil cars would be a welcome addition, especially for routes like ohio steel 2. Those EJ&E covers look pretty neat.

Co-incidentally it is "J" cars I want in the Sim and has caused me to ask the question. I can repaint thye KUJU but it isn't right the "J" didn't have the "one hood over full length" coil cars.

I checked on the links from above and there is a car with 2 hoods (see pic below). It is about 6 scale feet longer than the US standard (see pic below) but looks better than the KUJU one hood version. Shouldn't be a problem repainting but haven't worked out the numbering yet.

Not perfect but better than the Kuju?
Static numbering only, there is no provision for dynamic at all, so I picked an EJ&E at random and here it is. I have a photo showing a car with both covers in EJ&E orange, one with initials and one with them painted over.

Edit: The couplings don't show but they couple up.

I downloaded the full pack and the couplings now show and work with the right filter boxes checked.
