Looking for some items. . .

Unread postby kcs_fan » Sat Jun 18, 2011 1:11 am

I am looking for the following items free or for pay. Since I am new to this forum and to RW2, maybe someone out there can tell me where to find:

1. A decent US road/highway package that doesn't have cracks and grass growing up in it.

2. Old logging cars. The "skeleton" cars I downloaded will not work.

3. US Sawmill and related buildings etc. Prefer 40's-50's but beggars can't be choosers. The logging crane in the file library would not work either.

4. Anything KCS (Kansas City Southern) The AC 4400 in the File Library will not work. Can't even get it to show up in my list.

5. Stacks of and loads of sawn lumber.

6. Anything T & P (Texas and Pacific).

7. US homes and businesses. There ain't no stone cottages around here. Us rednecks don't know how to build them and we ain't got enough rocks even if we did.

8. Sidewalks.

9. A decent US steam engine like the old Baldwin in my avatar photo. You can't see them very well but that's my grandfather and great-grandfather in the photo.

Any ideas, suggestions, comments welcome! Thanks!

what i could find for you

1. Scale road from 3DTrains.com (Freeware)

2. Britkits has a logging package which comes with multiple kinds of cars including skeliton, flatbed, and disconected. (payware)

3. the assets from any of the allaboard routes has a whole lumber mill operation (payware)

4. If you go to TS.com and search in the RS file library there should be some SD40-2's in KCS white and in grey. (Freeware)

5. If you get the britkit logging pack there is lumber included but also if you get any of the freeware flatcars from GoldenAgeOfRailroading.com they have a lumber load.

6. Don't think there is any TP yet?

7. many to choose from: allaboard assets (Payware), SMM Digital (freeware), and Golden age (Freeware)

8. There are many US steam engines to choose from: Freeware: 4-4-0 avalable here in FL, 2-8-0 avalable here in FL Payware: Britkits has the biggest selection to choose from, Pacifics(light and heavy), Mallet, Mikado's (light and heavy), Prarries, Shays, small switchers to choose from. G-Trax Simulations has 3 types of steamers to choose from: GS-1 in SP livery's, SP&S Northerens, and Nickle Plate Berks. finally there are 3 more from steam for the US: 4-6-6-4 Challenger, 4-8-8-4 Big Boy, and a 2-8-0 switcher.

also if you ever need help installing anything just ask for help here, we will be glad to help you with anything you are having problems with, like the KCS ES4400.

All of these links are on our site here, just go to the section called "Links" (obviously !*roll-laugh*! ) good luck on your hunt and have fun! !*salute*!

I am not sure what you mean when you say things "don't work". Do you mean they do not look like the assets you wish to have, or they don't appear in the world editor, or what? Most of the things you are talking about are included in Tori's COA route. Links to it are found elsewhere on this forum. Be sure to read the instructions!

Pete, you probably hit the nail on the head by saying "read the instructions"! I finally got the skeleton log cars to install and appear in my assets. I was doing something wrong. I read and re-read the instructions and finally figured that one out. In my previous post when I say it didn't work, I mean I could not get the item installed, therefore it would not show up in any of my assets. I know how to click on the small box in the left flyout and then check off the assets I want to use. Some of them never show up in the right hand flyout for me to select. I'm sure it is USER error.

The Cardinal, thank you so much for the information! I am loving this so much! I had a huge N Scale model layout that took up a 12 X 20 foot room here in my home. Sadly, when the economy went bad, my printing business took a hard dive and I lost 11 customers in 10 months because they went out of business. To stay alive, I moved my printshop here to my home to save about 10K per year. So the train room is now the printshop. I sold thousands worth of engines and rolling stock I had collected for 25 years for pennies on the dollar. RW2 is now my model railroad, and you want to know a secret? I like this better! ! ! And it's a darn site easier on the pocketbook! I saved enough in fuel from making the 110 mile trip to Dallas to Discount Trains twice a month minimum to pay for RW2 and many more add-ons.

*!!thnx!!* *!!thnx!!* *!!thnx!!*

I know this is going to sound really dumb, but. . .

you wrote:

That got my full attention!

So away I went. . .
TS.com gives me a hip-hop clothing website. So I thought maybe you meant trainsimulator.com. So when I went there, I got a site offering me that domain name for $649.00.

So where exactly is TS.com and the RS file library located within? ? ? !*hp*!

Seriously, I AM grateful for all information you have given me. Please don't stop. Just remember, I'm the new rookie on the block.
