Adding rolling stock

Unread postby dtholm » Thu Jun 09, 2011 8:28 pm

If I wanted to add an engine or rolling stock and keep the engines and rolling stock this is already in Castle Rock
Do I use clone or new route !**conf**! I do not want to mess up the one that came with my CD so I should not use edit route.
I have read the manuals over and over again but I have a hard time understanding them. !*hp*!

I upload an attachment and clicked on add to file I hope I did not miss a step or I will have to type another Q and drive you mad.

You should always clone the route you want to add stock to. Otherwise, you will play merry havock if what you add messes up the default route. Yes, I do know from experience. !*hp*!

Erh, you don't edit a route to add stock, you edit a scenario; you can edit the default scenarios if you want, but you'd be better making your own ones, even if they're just clones of the originals. Editing a route is for when you want to make significant changes to the scenery.

Not to mention that any changes you make to default routes would be wiped out the next time Steam updates RW.
Best to make a clone.

!!**sorry**!! To keep bugging you so I clone castle rock and name it test castle rock.
Hoe do I get in to test castle rock to add rolling stock? Will all the rolling stock from
castle rock be in test castle rock? (I would like to keep the rolling stock if I can.)
I saw a video on how to add rolling stock but it did not start at the very beginning.
Like at the start icon on the gray screen. It started with moving the screen around
to the track that you want. I need to fill in the gab from the start on the gray screen.
tell that point. !*hp*! feel free to e-mail me a step by step txt from gray screen to save.
I would then be able to print it out and keep it in my note book.

!!**sorry**!! !!**sorry**!! I know I'm asking a lot. I do not know how to repay you
for your kindness and help *!!thnx!!*

No, don't clone the route. Go to the editor, then go to the Scenario editor, pick a scenario from Castle Rock and then clone that. Edit the cloned scenario and add your stock.
