Is there a standard defined on binding keys to functions?
There is a general consensus on the major functions, [KEY] is actuate [SHIFT]+{KEY] is de-actuate, [CTRL]+[KEY] is actuate alternative, [SHIFT]+[CTRL]+[KEY] is de-actuate alternative?
Like for instance in my tweaks to the Machine Rail Western Maryland H9 class 2-8-0, I could bind both the right and left side windows to open on the same key, by defining the right side as plain and the left side as alternative with the added [CTRL] key, and by using [SHIFT} for the close?
My question concerns the alternative side of the same element like window or door tied to the [CTRL] key, to free up some keyboard letters for other functions.
