Each one has its own stopping place really , like you pointed out its dependant on the train length . What I do is if its a standard 2 3 or 4 car consist ( depending on route and class ) I usually stop it where the station emblem appears on the HUD , if not as soon as the destination count hits 0.0 . If its an extra length train (i.e an HST in rural settings ) I stop with the front engine passed the platform with the first passenger car just before the end of the platform (where it starts sloping down ) as I have seen this IRL I am guessing that is the proper procedure for those trains , but most of the Uk lines in Railworks have the stopping boards for your train 3 car 4 car 6 car 8 car and HST , if you are using the 2car consists of the 158 for example its good practice to use the 3car stop area I would think
My scenarios are short, but they leave plenty of room for scope. Time to stretch to other routes I think
