The logical answer would be to take the branding off...

... or try to re-sell the same with their new branding for good as new prices (if DTG acquired the license of course) ...

Do routes need re-branding too, when the station signs are changed? I imagine you can copyright a train's livery, but a route (that is mostly fictitious anyway)?

I highly doubt DTG would acquire the license from Avanti West Coast this soon.

There is a very simple solution. Buy this before it goes away if you want it, re-do the signs and just offer them up as freeware. Problem solved. Next.

As a silver lining; at least they are giving some notice of this change. I don't recall any notification before the BNSF branding went away from their product offering internationally.

The Virgin branding has outlived any other branding on British railways since the 1948 nationalisation, except the double arrow (British Rail) emblem (still in use over 20 years after BR’s demise) and possibly since the 1923 grouping. Colourful and striking it will be sad to see it go and interesting to see its replacement. Most station signs will be unaffected as Virgin does not operate all of its station stops most of which are operated by other operators or Network Rail and that will not change.

The new branding is already in use:

That was Virgin East Coast not the routes in question which are Virgin West Coast routes. Due to GB government requiring the operators to pay for pension shortfalls incurred by others Virgin and their partners Stagecoach refused to comply and will be not be continuing the franchise when it is renewed. The new operator’s branding has not yet (to my knowledge) been revealed and will probably not be until the new operator actually takes over (this is how it usually happens).

Should be an excuse for AP to apply their 390 sound pack to the older Class 390 pack
