Train Simulator Player Survey

Unread postby ColinMRivet » Mon Nov 18, 2019 2:47 am

I work at Rivet Games who were formed earlier this year to create new Train Simulator content. So we can learn what everyone wants to see most, we've created an online survey that we'd like as many Train Simulator players as possible to fill out. We're also offering everyone that completes it a €3 (US$3.5) voucher for our store if that helps ;)

Many thanks.

Just so you know ahead of time there is no references to USA routes or assets in this survey.

In fact they specifically exclude USA, UK and Germany as they are “covered by DTG” but Canada, Australia are possibles as are Poland, Italy, France and others.

I responded your survey yesterday.
I found that statement excluding USA routes.
This is not the best place to survey Europe routes. !*not-ok*!

By the way, USA has lots of interesting places for which there are no routes available either from DTG or third parties.
You have to revise your marketing related with USA contents. !!howdy!!

Thanks all.

Yeah, appreciate folks here are probably mostly looking for North American routes, but didn't want to exclude you because of that, and thought it was worth seeing if there were other places you might be keen on getting; Canada or Mexico could be options for us, and imagine many of you have been on some cool trains/routes elsewhere around the globe.

Cheers.

Canada would be great, particularly those routes connecting with USA, but if I remember well, CA was not listed in the survey as one of the potential countries.

Canada, to my surprise, was definitely one of the tick boxes.

Canada could really use some non-mountain grade love. There's a lot of options in regards to this, particularly in the Province of Ontario.

Fully agree. More flat terrain routes in Canada (and in USA).

How about the Peace River route? Is that flat and boring enough for you? *!greengrin!*

Gross. Mountain grade isn't fun nor challenging to anyone with a half a brain. Full throttle up the hill, balance braking down. Real difficult. *!rolleyes!*

Rolling gradient routes with moderate to high speeds like the upcoming East portion of the Hi-Line sub is what I'd like to see more of. It takes skill to manage your train forces and speed accordingly when your train is constantly undulating. There's plenty of opportunity for that in Canada, as well.
Such as the Heron Bay Subdivision which is more forested and remote:

or the Parry Sound Subdivision which is quite scenic with varying speed limits and terrain, as well as using OCS which is similar in working to Track Warrants.

Do the survey, it might do some good. Not doing it will certainly NOT.
