According to Steam, however, I no longer had Train Simulator or any of the DLC installed. Spent some time fiddling around then decided to use my now isolated installation as my backup, and do a complete reinstall to a different drive...
Still in the middle of re-downloading TS (approximately 109GB to download before it unpacks into the relevant folders). Total of 10 hours approx download time, then I will be able to install my (now) backup.
A scenario for the Bessemer & Lake Erie route was loading when TS froze - waited for a while - couldn't get into Task Manager to shut the sim down and nothing would take me back to the desktop. Permanent light on the computer suggesting complete lockup, so I opted for a hard reboot - imagine my surprise
when I went back into Steam to see Train Simulator greyed out...Has anyone else experienced this?
Did I have an alternative route to make my original installation accessible through Steam again?
Oh what fun we have...
