RW Enhancer (latest version)

I am writing to see if anyone else have the problem as I have. Maybe I should contact the creator of RW Enhancer to see about this but thought to see if anyone here have the same problem with me using RW Enhancer. I find this with RW Enhancer at night show very dark and hardly to see on the monitor screen even can't see the locomotive headlight. Maybe I should change the settings in Train Simulator 2019 or my graphic card. Anyone else have the same? Let me know about this.

Can you please post your settings?
Which route and which loco do you run?

Have you tried to play a bit with the settings?

I know that some of the shaders handle the lightning and contrast somewhat different than the default ones included in the sim. This also can happen if you haven't enabled any setting in RW Enhancer. I noticed that for example with the skydome shader where the sunrise from my Time of Day files doesn't look as natual as with the default shaders.

It's not just your system. I've noticed that on some routes like Horseshoe Curve the sun sets very early and though maybe it's due to the RW enhancer mod I think something about the sun positioning on some routes may cause night to happen unrealistically early.

Guess that I should turn off RW Enhancer and see if that makes the difference. Then I will complain to the creator of RW Enhancer about their lighting. I couldn't see the train at night because of so dark in the simulation. Any idea how to turn off RW Enhancer temporarily and see if the update will come from them?

I don't know how you set yours up but I have a shortcut on my desktop. In any event if you go to the show all programs it will be there. Open it and choose 'Restore Original Shaders and Shazaam! you will be back to default.

The time of the sunrise and sunset has nothing to do with RW Enhancer. In every route are time of day blueprints linked for every season. In these blueprints is defined at which time the sun rises, sets, the colors and the angle of sun and moon, the sky color and some other values.
If these values are incorrect for the location of the route (for example on many routes the sun moves east --> north --> west), the sun movement is it too.

That also depends on the time of day blueprints. Are you using any other mods like the Armstrong Powerhouse weather pack which also replaces these blueprints for many routes?

What is the name of the route and scenario John? Some routes scenarios are darker than others at night time. I know I have a UK route scenario which I cannot remember the name of where it is so dark that you cannot see anything. This was way before RW Enhancer which I have. I just run it at the default settings.

All pics included RW Enhancer on, all boxes ticked. Very dark for summer at 7 pm in Altoona.

But on other routes, the sky is much brighter with the same time, weather, and season. Like Dan mentioned, some routes like Horseshoe Curve must have incorrect values for the sun movement.

Donner Pass looks fine.

As does London to Brighton.

Even my old Western Maryland railroad which is based on the HSC template looks fine.

So the problem is not with RW Enhancer, but the route itself.

There must be something wrong with your installation. Are you sure you haven't installed any other mods? I've just started a quickdrive at 7 pm and the sun is still up. Sunset is defined at 9 pm in the summer blueprint.

Please have a look at YOURRAILWORKSFOLDER\Content\Routes\00000025-0000-0000-0000-000000000000

There you shouldn't find a single RouteProperties.xml file. In this file the time of day blueprint is linked. All files outside the .ap files have priority over the ones inside the .ap files.

Then have a look at YOURRAILWORKSFOLDER\Assets\RSC\HorseShoeCurve

Is there a seperate folder 'TimeOfDay'? If yes, rename it and try your scenario again.

Trevor -- The scenario is NS Chicago Oil Trains and the route is The Racetrack. Anyway I look at other photos that Buzz posted and surprised to see that his route with The Racetrack is a little brighter than mine. Mine is really dark and will post mine tomorrow so you will know what I am talking about.
