Enabling sound packs in scenarios

Unread postby Shawmut » Fri Feb 15, 2019 9:23 am

Although I've dabbled in RW for some time now (I actually still have the original disks for RS laying around somewhere!), I just now have discovered, in this exact forum, Machinist's "Reinstall RW3 Mods with 2-Clickz (Basic)" batch file system for restoring mods in, as he says, just 2 clickz. Hmm, methinks what a great idea!

So I created my #REINSTALL folder and began populating the Railworks subdir with my various mods. I have a bunch of AP sound mods that I've unpacked to this #REINSTALL\Railworks folder. So by unpacking to this batch file folder I don't get any tick marks in either the route or associated scenario folders … RW doesn't know, on the face of it, to employ those sounds. Instead the barely discernable Kuju sounds still come through.

So my question is this: is it enough to edit the route and enable, say, the AP WagonSP or Mk1-2SP in the right-hand flyout menu, or must I laboriously go through, scenario-by-scenario, and do the same thing in the scenario editor?

Regards,

Dave

I go into the route xml and add whatever asset I want to be there permanently but there may be a easier way to do it.
