I've been playing around with the steam locomotives on the Clear Creek Railroad route. I'm having a lot of fun learning the ins and out of steam locomotive operations. However, I still have a problem with maintaining boiler pressure and boiler water levels on the long climbs, especially when I hit the 3% to 4% grades. I don't know if these climbs are possible without stopping at a siding to let boiler pressure build back up and to replenish the water, or if I need to do them in stages. I run the hills with my regulator at 100% and I adjust the Johnson Bar depending on whether or not I'm losing boiler pressure or speed.

Any tips?

Try the boiler pressure back at 70-75% and see if that helps out while still being able to maintain some reasonable speed.
