Freeware high speed routes?

Unread postby SAR704 » Sun Apr 08, 2018 6:34 am

As the title refers to, are there any freeware high speed routes out there? Such as the TGV, or whatever else they're called?

I've been tempted to purchase a payware route for this purpose, before I realised that spending $20-40 may not be necessary for what could be 30 minutes of driving at the most. I'm referring to operational speeds of around 250kph or higher, but I wouldn't mind driving on a UK HST route if there are any recommended freeware ones around the place.

So assuming there are any, which ones would be recommended in regards to the availability of rolling stock and scenarios?

Would I be correct in assuming that there are none available, and they are all payware?

Not really, the Spanish LAV is freeware:

Or this Italian HSL:

Or the mother of all trains high speed, the TGV:

There should be a couple more trains and routes available from the sources mentioned in the YouTube videos.

Would be nice to have some Shinkansen/Kodama from Japan, the grand mother of high speed rail passenger transport.

Thanks for the response, appreciated. Good to know that it's not all paid content.
