A Subway Route?

We seen so much from Railworks, but the one thing I think we have yet to see is a full subway route. I would love to drive though tunnels. I'm a resident of New York City so naturally I would love this.

It would although require alot of custom items, but hey I think this would be a true sim with a subway route.

Word! You speak out of my soul. :D
I've always missed a London Underground, never thought of a NY subway, but would be awesome.

The biggest problems are the asssets, as you said. Especially the Tunnels.
Two ways: build the tracks overground and enclose them or make custom tunnellofts.
I think the second way is better although it is more difficult.
One would need for examample a loft with huge space around the tracks to make a station.
Complicated, but feasible.
Third rails are already possible (Isle of Wight). Custom signals, trains and other things like signs are also needed. A big negative aspect is the lack of working lights, but I think this is fixed till the end of the year.

So when do you start? *!greengrin!*

There is a rendition of the LU District line underway, which looks pretty remarkable.

On the other hand there is an entire game devoted to subways, so I guess it will be a demotivating factor for anyone wanting to do one for RW.

Why built again what is already there? *!!wink!!* And London Underground is coming in a couple of weeks from the same developer.

One of the route building challenge routes from UKTS had a lot of subway sections. The tracks were built in tunnels, just a bit underground and the station were holes digged out, closed from above with concrete blocks. That was done clever and sort of good looking, it did not really have the feeling of an underground ride because of the lights etc, but it was close enough. If I would only remember what it was called...

As great as WOS is, I think a subway route would look great in RW2. Plus graphics would make the subway route pop out. Thats not to say that WOS didn't do the same, but as Tim pointed out because we don't yet have Workable Headlights going though those tunnels would be uneventful being they would be half pitch black.

Took a while to find, but there is a reasonably recent pic around.

London Underground headlights aren't worth being called headlights.

Because I want it for Railworks. There I can use the Assets for other projects, can make my own scenarios and have much more freedom.
I don't want it as a standalone. My view.
