So I am looking to upgrade my three year old PC by the end of January and I was wondering if installing Railworks to a SSD (solid State Drive) would help with a lot of the problems that the game has been plagued with since its release. The more I try to run Railworks and make bigger scenarios the more likely I am to get a dump file. I would like to know what if anything can help with lowering the frequencies of these dump files, whether it is installing Railworks to a SSD or adding RAM or even getting the top of the processor/graphics card.

A SSD makes TS run a lot smoother. Do you have 16gig of RAM? Particularly if you are running win10 which is a memory hog if you have 16gigs it will help a lot.

I actually have 12 GB of RAM instead of the standard 16 GB of RAM. I was actually planning on upgrading to 24 GB of RAM (if that is even possible), but other than that I have a GTX 950 with 2 GB of GPU and an old intel i5-4570. I plan to upgrade from a 950 to a 1070 and from an i5-4570 to the i7, I don't really know what the best one would be though

Well, from my tech stand point and build. I have the Intel Xeon equivalent to the I7 since I'm running separate graphics I saved the money from switching to the Xeon. Get the 1070. I'm saving up for one now. Definitely get the SSD. It's helped my RW install out greatly. I'm still running a Nvidia 760 and I locked my FPS at 60 on an HD TV running 1080p with custom game settings and nvidia settings I get pretty smooth game play. I get an occasional stutter but nothing like I had on a mechanical hard drive. Oh I'm only running 8gb of ram on Win 7 x64 buzz is correct in the Windows 10 being a resource hog. It was designed poorly for gamers. Those stupid tiles with your "apps" are constantly doing crap even when the start menu isn't open plus many other useless crap stuff.

I recently updated my pc to an I5 7600K 4.2GHZ with 16G ram, GTX1070TI GPU and twin SSD drives. Was originally leaning towards an I7, but the place I bought it from steered me back to the I5. (because most of the work in TS is derived at the GPU, they suggested it would be overkill to go the I7 route, unless I was going to be using some heavy computational programs - CAD or Video editing etc. If not, the difference in this type of gaming was described as negligible) Have to say, I am very happy with the buy. Am getting 60-80 fps on Sherman Hill Heritage -will be interesting to see how it performs on something a little more intensive like the B&LE early next year. Running is VERY smooth and from power up to desktop ready to go is about 11 seconds. I have dedicated one drive for Win 10 64 Home and the other for basically everything else, and it all runs fine.
