New Website for CLSW Productions (GEVO Sound Pack)

Unread postby simer4 » Wed Mar 23, 2011 7:10 pm

Hello. This is just a little notice about my website being up now, and a new forum for it. Comments and all that is still accepted here as well. Note that this is the home of the GEVO sound pack and upcoming EMD 16-645E3 sound pack.

That's it.
Aidan

Aidan, you are doing some fine work here indeed. Just one more day until the Gevo update is released, cant wait to try it out. Your contribution is really appreciated. Thanks again.

What's the occasional ( loud! ) hiss/fan type sound in the cab? I'd say it was aircon, but on my install it's so loud it's drowning pretty much everything else out. If I have some idea what it is I'll alter it, just need to know what I'm looking for first.

Not sure if you got my PM or not but there are two horn files missing in the v1.4 release:

T_ES44_HW_HornEnd_K5LA.wav
T_ES44_Cab_HW_HornStart_K5HL.wav

Think you can add these in and reupload it?

What you are probably hearing is the air to air dual heat exchanger that is more evident in cab as it is part of the base cab stereo engine sound files.

Wow. I can't believe these weren't in the download. It's pretty hard for me to catch these things as there is a ton of files I have to sort through to find the files needed to include. A new update with just the two files will be uploaded. I am now going to ask, who would like to become beta testers for my next releases? Also, whenever I release a new pack for a locomotive, unless it is an update, I ask that you remove any other files from previous releases or betas as this would decrease chances for a mistake like this one.

Well, it's intermittent, just sometimes it's so loud I have to turn the volume down in a way that shouts "bug". But okay, I'll go fiddle with that, thanks. It might be something to do with running with/without alchemy on, I quite often forget to enable it.

There is one other issue, there's something dependent on RPM that's usually pretty high-pitched - possibly another fan - but as the engine goes to notch 1 or down to idle you can hear it reach the bottom of it's pitch modifier curve, and it sounds like you put your hand on a record turntable; perhaps add a volume modifier curve to fade it out at low RPM? I've had similar problems setting up turbocharger samples. Otherwise, this is a big step up on the involvement scale.

I see what you are talking about. I will have a fix for that soon.
