Changing DTG C40-8W Numbers

Unread postby ET44C4 » Sat Sep 02, 2017 1:27 pm

I would like to change the number of digits that the DTG CSX C40-8W displays on the locomotive. I'm looking for a way to change the four digit numbers to three digit numbers. Would that be possible by editing any particular files?

Help would be very much appreciated.

You can just alpha out one of the numbers and remember that character represents a blank. For example: 5098. I alpha out the 8, so now the 8 represents a blank. I can no longer get an 8 to appear on my loco, since it represents a blank. (<--- This method I was having trouble with while testing it on the GP38-2) However, I'm experimenting with adding a # to the number bin file which directly at the texture.

That is a very neat way to do it. I guess the only problem would be that you can not use the number you blank out, correct?
