Please folks take a minute to learn how to post pictures directly to the forum. We have plenty of capability and Photobucket just cut you off so all your pictures are now blank on here.

I should have seen this coming. Caught me by surprise. It was great while it lasted. Thanks Photo Bucket for the service you have provided. Will work with another source from here on in.

No, not for RWA. Please attach pictures to your posts instead of linking to external sources.

It's not just here, Photobucket messed up web pages, logs, forums, all over the world!

I'n not complaining, free enterprise at it's best or worst. You are free to make stupid decisions.

Hey, Buzz, what do you mean by "cut you off"? All of the images I've saved to Photobucket seem to still be at the site. Can you be more specific? And how about telling us how to post directly to the forum (a specific message URL would be great)?

They cut off hot linking or embedding the images they host apparently.

You mean this link that was posted May 2015 right up there in the General Discussion Forum Announcements?

They have over 10 billion images stored by 100 million registered users. But now they’re going to start charging, and that means billions of images around the Web are now broken.

Hotlinking (AKA inline linking) is when someone takes an image file hosted on a server and embeds it on a different webpage elsewhere. Since the new webpage continuously requests the file from the original source server, it saps the server owner’s bandwidth (and storage space).

Photobucket allowed hotlinking photos uploaded to and stored on its servers for a long time. This was their business model, and they made money from ads on their own site, which users would be exposed to when they went to upload content.

Unfortunately for Photobucket users, things are about to change in a big way as of June 26th. Now the service is rolling out a $399 per year subscription fee for those who want to hotlink images from Photobucket’s servers to display elsewhere. That means that billions of images across the Web now display an error message instead of the image in question."

Again, capitalism at it's best. I'm sure they will make a bundle. I'd rather donate here or set up my own server, much cheaper.
