Workshop scenarios not a problem but need to know how??

Unread postby cnbalasub » Sat Jul 22, 2017 9:37 pm

Earlier this evening I ran a workshop scenario -- Leaving LA Part 4. I don't have a problem but trying to figure out how do I uncouple the cars? The instruction for this scenario tell me that I have to uncouple the last four cars including the locomotive from the player train. I had no problem to get into the place where to put the last four cars. OK I got the player train stop in full then click uncouple between the fourth and fifth car of the end of the train. When I got the player train ready to go to leave slowly and all of sudden the cars coupled again. Now my question is that how do I keep the cars stay uncouple then the train can leave? I find this a little struggle with workshop scenarios. I am not sure what is the best way to uncouple the cars then the player train can leave.

Let me know how.

Thank you,

John

Try setting the handbrakes on a few of the cars before uncoupling, that usually does it for me in similar situations.

Another solution is to begin slowly moving the train away from the drop-off point: just enough to stretch the couplers; then click on the correct couplers in the F4 HUD. The only circumstance I can think of in which such actions would be necessary, however, is if the drop-off marker is on a track that slopes downward in the direction that the train is moving.

Yes that is the way that I have done it when they won't uncouple.
