RSDerek positive post

Unread postby imnew » Sat Mar 12, 2011 7:56 pm

Hey guys and gals,

As most of you know by now, from reading my posts, i am a strong supporter of RW. I do believe the RW team is really "there" for the sim, and the community/fans, they are railfans themselves and wish their product all the best ofcourse. I will continue to invest in their US dlc, wich make me happy with new toys, and keeps them in business to update the core issues. A win win situation is it not? !!*ok*!!

RSDerek, if you are reading this i hope you are not offended by me copying your post and sharing it here at RWA.

Hi,
For those folks that don't think core is evolving, you are in for a treat later in the year! (and that is no vegetable)
If anyone thinks we are sitting back taking it easy, then you could not be further from the truth. Believe me or don't.
Yes we make lots of DLC, no excuses for that, We like making it, there is a demand for it and folks like choice.

RSDL were 7 men and a goat. We did well for the period we supported RS.
RS.com are now 20+ and still growing.
Now we know there is a lot of hard work ahead to make the sim what we (and you guys) want it to be, but we are all up for the challenge.
Get yourself to the buffet car for a cuppa and a biscuit, it's going to be a super journey.

regards

Derek

Goats are useful. They will recycle paper, mow and fertilize the lawn for you. I hope he made it through the transition.

I wait for the big Tech Update and then we can talk again about the Core of RW.
With the new interface and various other little improvements RW keeps gettin better and better.

But I think that RS.com should better inform the Community about the Updates and what they change. This is the problem, a lack of information.
And Derek is right: The development of RS.com is great. Just think about the amazing growth of the last year and I hope it keeps growing.
The new SW 1500 Addon is the proof that quality is advancing and we get more and more content. You can also detect this at the ever-growing number of Railworkers and Payware Producers.

I think RailWorks is going a good way.

yep, i can't wait to see what is in store for the future! yes i know we all can't wait for the tech update but that is not really what i can't wait for. (it is something to definatlly look forward to though) what i can't wait for is to see RW basically overtake MSTS! (in a sence of popularity and addons !!*ok*!! ) a big advancement with the SW1500 too, even though there were 4 bugs. (the 3 that they are going to fix for shure and one that just kinda bothers me [the horn, how you can tell when the loop ends]) Great job on everything guys and i also want to say that without you guys i probably would have gone crazy without RS/RW by now!

let the RW seed grow into a huge tree! !*salute*!

I've always been the guy that likes the underdog. I started my own business years ago on a shoestring, and when it grew, I could add people to help me. In the mean time, I fixed stuff and made money, kinda like RSC selling add on's to make money and expand. I have confidence that the "core" will be fixed, and I hope they test and retest, don't rush it out the door. Which is why (maybe?) they haven't set a date yet. Get it right, guys.

Let's all see where this sim is in a year. We'll all look back and laugh. I think it's only going to get better from here on! !!*ok*!!

Thanks for bringing this post here, Imnew. This is the primary forum to visit for me and I count on you guys to bring all the news here. I could spend hours reading the UKTS forum which is why I tend not to go there except for problem solving, get in and get out types of visits.

Unbeknownst to many RW drivers/players there have been many little tweaks to the underpinnings of RW in the editor parts of the game. Many little things that have accumulated to a better development environment... things like settings that stay put and come back after crashes/restarts, improved dependability in the actions of any given "click" in the editor, better behavior of the ribbon assets like track snap-to, placement stability, alignments..... many things that are too hard to list or describe here. To you guys at RSC, yes some of us have noticed, and I am sure that some of those buggy little annoyances were very hard to track down and repair. It has become apparent to me how much RSC wants this product to succeed and I think some of that spirit comes from having a company owner with a personal interest in the product.

Coincidentally, for about the same amount of time, I have been watching Jim Justice do the very same thing with The Greenbrier Hotel. Yes, oddly, the two undertakings really do parallel each other including the neglect and near abandonment by their previous owners. It's great to see that folks still have the desire and drive to preserve and promote our heritages and provide us all with genuine quality entertainment for reasons other than just profitability. The demise of either RW or The Greenbrier would have been very sad to see and a genuine loss to us and future fun-seekers. The sharing/broadcasting of posts like this by Derek are encouraging and well-received by those of us who hope to contribute to RW's success. Many days I need news like this to find the energy to continue the battle with my computer!

I'm not Tori *!greengrin!* ,but I can give you the answer.

"Montani Semper Liberi (Latin for "Mountaineers are Always Free") is the official motto of the state of West Virginia, USA." (source:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seal_of_West_Virginia)

No surprise to me that a German would be "up" on WV since we are 43% of German descent here. !*cheers*! The rest are mostly Welsh, Irish and Scottish clans; very independent, pioneering, and freedom minded folks who started settling at these remote higher elevations in the 1700's. "Don't mess with us" is practically a required "attitude" to be a Mountaineer. !*YAAA*! !*roll-laugh*!
