How many MB's is normal for Train Simulator

My Train Simulator is using over 3000 MB. It crashes sometimes in build mode. I get the message that there is not enough memory. Is this normal? I am using Windows 10.
If this seems too much what can I do to bring it to a normal level.
I have thought about uninstalling, and reinstalling, but I would probably loose data I have from other Sources plus my own route.

First off I doubt that you RailWorks folder is that small. I have a huge collection of stuff but mine is 215 gigs. If you are getting crashing does it give you the out of memory sign? How much RAM do you have in your computer and what video card do you have? These are generally the most critical elements in build crashes. If you can provide that info there will be some suggestions I'm sure. Some from me and who knows who else.

If you have lots of workshop scenarios etc, that can cause crashing.

I think he may actually be refering to RAM rather than hard disk usage
