I've been asked to find a file in the engine browser to complete a repaint loco, and I have no clue what that is having never gone that deep into Railworks. Can someone enlighten me please.

Click on the loco pic next to the route and there is a search bar upper right with with drop downs to pick a filter. If you need to install a repaint and find those files it is a different story, you don't need the browser then. It is only for finding a loco to play in game.

Most locomotives and cars have their texture folders as a sub to the engine folder, so, the engine .bin file will allow you to change the name and maybe numbers, but as far as textures goes, most need to be replaced within the original texture folder, unless setup for multiple unit liveries. Just be warned, if you extract the .bin using the Serz.exe file in the main TS directory, change it and then try to reassemble the .bin using Serz.exe it will break the .bin so it can't be used within the Workshop. I am sure there is more to this, maybe someone with more knowledge can explain it.

My suggestion is to go get RWTools and read the instructions for opening and modifying bin files. That way you will have a backup automatically made in case you mess up. And you will. I have dozens of times. The bin file is in the engine folder in the particular locomotive you are re-painting. Remember when looking for this stuff the windows search function is your friend. Saves you a ton on time randomly poking around trying to find stuff. If you tell us what loco you're working with one of us can find the path for you in a couple of minutes.
