F40PH HEP Engine Help

Unread postby SithMurcielago » Mon Feb 14, 2011 2:12 pm

Hello,

I was doing an experiment in which I run a HEP F40PH for use on the Autotrain. Now I manage to Max out the RPM on this engine at 900. I go in the game and it works. I can hear the engine at max rpm, but however when I which to the HEP (Trailer) the engine is dead with no power or fuel. Now I'm wondering for all the experts out there as far as this game and real life goes. Is the HEP Engine loaded to capacity with fuel or not? Plus How can I Enter the Locomotive without it going dead?

If anyone has more info on how the F40PH in with HEP works I can make the changes in the bin files. If you are wondering which file I'm using or Engine its PH-3 #401 Trail.

Thanks for the Help!

Aren't the trail engines the ones that were changed by Amtrak into nonpowered control/baggage units?
I don't know. !*don-know!*

Actually you are right. I think that is why the engine was dead, but something interesting happen. When I was throwing a switch I changed cabs fro mthe working engine to the HEP (Which is suppose to be dead) and it took on the power and the fuel of the lead engine and I was able to go in revser with that engine.

Is this a code to having Cab Control Cars for RW?

I think RW doesn't has a code for Cab Control.
I know that because Mark from 3DTrains once said he has some Bombardier commutercars in development, but until RS.com implements a proper cab control feature he won't release them. *!sad!*

Yeah I hope this will be implemented soon and I think Mark told em about it.

The funny thing is that it is actually possible to make a cab controll by adding only very little engine power to the cab control unit.
So it's officially a cabcontrol, but unofficially a loco. *!lol!* *!!wink!!* RS.com did this with their Class 101 DMU.
But Mark didn't want this for his cars so he waits till there is a update. !*don-know!*
