is a blueprint simply a dcsv file?

I tried using the blueprint editor and successfully converted and exported a csv file to a dcsv file. Frankly, the blueprint software seems VERY unique in it's user interface. No 'open file' in the menu, instead you have to maneuver through the file system to find a file (I think!). No save file, instead you 'export.' But are all exports 'dcsv' files?

I thought the blueprints were the bin file. RW Tools will also do that conversion for you.

DCSV (comma-separated values) are text files containing numbers for rolling stock, markers, etc.

Dcsv files are not called blueprints, although they are both xml text files.
Blueprints contain various parameters for engines, rolling stock, scenery, etc.
Dcsv files contain tables of numbers.

The process is really an export operation, because it converts a csv (a table of comma-separated values) into an xml structure.
Once it is done, you can edit the dcsv file directly with a text editor, thus bypassing the blueprint editor's clunky interface.
