THis has two advantages: makes the game more realistic, and makes engines behave in a predictable way. Without it, the RW roster is a huge mess, all engines behave differently, you have to try to remember how to handle each of them.

That's how awful the default physics for the DLCs are mainly because the people developing them have not a single clue as to how US trains should perform. At the times they made most of the DLC, they didn't have people like myself or others to input on the development process. Though I've since ceased being a part of it for multiple reasons.
