Lights on AI Trains

I am building and have built some successful scenarios. How do I get Headlights and ditch lights to light on AI Trains?
I'm sure I have seen scenarios where the locomotive lights work.
It is probably a simple solution, but I don't know how. I have looked and looked on the forum with no luck.
Thanks for any help.

Only the main headlight controller in the engine blueprint responds to AI starts and stops,

Any additional headlights, ditchlights etc, that are scripted do not respond.
The same with scripted smoke emitters and probably any other scripted feature of your AI locomotives.

That depends on the individual script - some scripts (mine, for example) recognise when the loco is an AI and make it do various actions automatically (based on speed, usually).

Thanks for trying to help. However, I know nothing about scripts.
Sorry I haven't responded with thanks sooner, but we have had some health problems in the family.
